Just got an offer from G, was wondering what will be the total compensation since I am considering moving out of US. Also how does it compare with Facebook London?

It’s less than low T3 offers in Mountain View.

But the cost is living is different right. I know Zurich is expensive but people don't live in the city.

@ZillaT so it’s better if one switches to management before transferring to UK?

Yep, it’s better to be some form of Mgr - they pay them more - coz they’re very hierarchical

Isn’t UK salary figure the actual amount you take home and the employer pays the necessary tax? Also you get the whatever health benefits! So it is upper middle class if not the top 1%!

Interesting. Can someone confirm if this is the case? TIA!

This is not the case. The tax is automatically reduced from your salary thugh before it ends up on your account.

The tax is quite heavy with around 40%, see also https://www.gov.uk/income-tax-rates
      (also ~50% on RSU)

The NHS is not really something I would consider good by any European standard either....

@lglz84 thanks for the info! Do you work in the uk?

Is the 50% on RSU capital gains or on the vesting as well?

      I do!

~50% on vesting. There is also capital gain taxes but those are negligible. Plus there is an allowance on capital gains. (afaik currently 10k a year)

In total (gain + vesting), expect to have 50-65% taxes on your RSU. Your mileages may vary and you could probably tweak it a bit.
