Hey people. My background is in UX Design but I came to Amazon through the MBA recruiting pipeline. If attempting to internal transfer, should I be looking at L6 roles or would I need to level down to L5? I have 6 years work experience and an MS degree in computer science (was trying to become a technical UX Designer before I got the PM job) I’m also hoping that if I do need to level down, my TC doesn’t go down as well. Do L5 designers make the same/more than L6 PMs?
PMs typically make more than UX. As to the leveling, it really depends on what your UX experience and skills are. I've seen people transfer to PM but honestly never seen someone transfer to UX because it's such a specialized skill.

How many hours per week would you work for $1M TC
Can you tell me what your TC is right now? L5 UXD can vary widely, anywhere from 140-220k TC for the SF market. Chances are, you’d have to level down because it’s a totally different job family and you likely wouldn’t be able to perform at the level that’s expected of an L6 UXD right off the bat, unless you’ve had significant experience prior to your MBA.
Good answer, though my TC was higher as an L5 than what you mentioned here. L6 now way higher.
