No one was traveling to Alabama from la anyway lol

Insight 11627 May 24, 2019

Agreed.. just thought it was a stupid gesture.. Hey! We are mad about those people over there restricting rights, so.. we are going to restrict your right!

Cloudera ಠ╭╮ಠ May 24, 2019

That's misleading. They're not restricting rights of private citizens in LA. They're changing how the local government operates it's business. No one's individual rights are being curtailed

Twitter Oomnj May 24, 2019

Lol - fascists look for an opportunity to be fascists.

Insight 11627 May 24, 2019

I know.. why can’t we just live and let live. Pretty diverse country we have. Pretty overstepping from LA

Twitter Oomnj May 24, 2019

That’s the entire point of having states imo. Live and let live. Alabama has a huge population in favor of this ban - a lot of women favor it more than men in that state. A woman signed it into law. Let them live in their state. You do what you want in LA

OpenTable Meliodas May 24, 2019

Employers are free to decided where they send their employees for work travel. Alabama already has a California state travel ban because of its anti-LGBTQ laws.

Insight 11627 May 24, 2019

Did you mean California had a state travel ban towards Alabama?

OpenTable Meliodas May 24, 2019

Yes

Uber ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° May 24, 2019

Would you feel the same if Alabama removed a less contentious civil right?

Insight 11627 May 24, 2019

That’s the issue.. this is a heated debate. And ultimately a state issue.. Any city/state trying to act superior to another based upon their beliefs and enacting “bans” is not a direction we should want to go in

Microsoft 🤦🏻‍♂️🤮🍿 May 24, 2019

Playing devil’s advocate here How is the killing of a human being a civil right? I know I know, trust me I know That’s their contention, they don’t see a human being growing inside you as a parasite or a scab.

Epic Games uSko17 May 24, 2019

Freedom of speech doesn't mean I need to support your position

Insight 11627 May 24, 2019

Why even comment on it in the first place and make a “rule” to force others to avoid the place where you disagree.. I can agree that anyone should be allowed to say anything .. but I don’t agree with a government entity taking action because there is a disagreement

OpenTable Meliodas May 24, 2019

It the city’s money, the city council can decide where it is spent. Funny how you are ok with the Alabama legislature restricting the rights of its citizens in the name of local control, but oppose the LA city council from deciding how the city spends its money.

Stay classy, LA

Apple ijyA68 May 24, 2019

When Democrats implement a travel ban to a Christian majority state it is liberal and loving. Don’t anyone suggest their “outrage” about Trump’s travel ban seems hypocritical.

Credit Karma EllisDee25 May 24, 2019

Nah, it’d be f***ed up too if LA didn’t let individuals from that state travel to Los Angeles.

Apple ijyA68 May 24, 2019

You just can’t travel too the Christian majority state. Totally different. 🤦🏿‍♂️

“The ban covers all LA County employees traveling to Alabama for official business, with exceptions for emergency response training or other legally-required trips. “ I would like them to take similar measures against all parts of the world that has abortion bans. At least they should be consistent.

Insight 11627 May 24, 2019

They dare not do the same to Georgia.. it has Atlanta.. It’s just an empty announcement for a headline

LA should ban monuments too

Microsoft Tier 1 May 24, 2019

These local government bans on doing business with or travel to other jurisdictions within the US are likely unconstitutional, and if not, need to be made so ASAP.

OpenTable Meliodas May 24, 2019

Why? Local government has control over how it chooses to spend funds.
