Layoffs

To all the people out there who work for a company with employees always on edge about when the layoffs will happen, I feel for you. Layoffs suck, but the anxiety before layoffs is worse. And after it happens, it’s like a huge weight off your shoulders.

I saw on Blind that SoFi and Snapchat also just had layoffs. Good luck to everyone there who got laid off as well.

    Good luck 🍀
If you get pip'ed like I once did, remember that if you bust your butt off to beat it (don't underestimate it - I worked an 80-hour week to beat mine), you can buy yourself time to find a new job.

After the PIP is beat you can coast for a bit and get a new job.

@theese after you beat the pip you'll get time - it's during that time that you go find a job asap

Good luck to you! Hope you now get time to figure out a better place to work. And I’m sure the next time we have layoffs at Snap, writers like Josh Constine at TechCrunch will be all over it. That guy won’t get off our ass.

No it wasn't. That's the narrative that makes everyone feel better about it but it's not the case.

Oracle goes through RIFs constantly. It's very draining.

I’ve heard rumors of layoffs at Postmates, so it’s good to know the anxiety of it is worse than when it actually happens.

I used to work at a top financial firm and layoffs were an yearly thing. Mostly bad performance or if there was no need for an individual were the ones targeted. However, it was draining and stressful on everyone.
