Lead content in child's blood

We got our blood test for our 1.5 year old daughter as per ped's recommendation. The result had high content 8.2. They said 5 is the limit. We are worried a lot.

Anybody has gone through this? What are the steps we can take to get rid of the lead from out of daughter's body as quickly as possible?

Didn’t you ask the doctor what to do about it? I would not ask strangers on Blind.

It’s probably the environment (house) or in the water. Did you have yours tested?

Why is everyone on the internet so scared to share medical advice? I mean, it’s advice, not an order, and it’s free. If you’re not well-versed in Medicine or don’t have any info to offer based on your own personal experience and what worked for you or not during a disease/healing scenario, then don’t share. But why shame or limit those who do? Sorry, I can’t tell you what has worked for me in the past dealing with lead poisoning because I haven’t experienced that, but know that if I had, I would be sharing advice here with you as you solicited. I am sure a quick google search will give you resources, in addition to your doctor, who was your first step.

Yes, experience is a better term. I agree. Why chance it? Because people benefit from other people’s experience sometimes.

Are you a doctor? Or do you just play one on Blind?

In no way, shape, or form is this an appropriate forum for that question. You want another opinion ask ANOTHER PEDIATRICIAN.

I'm not a doctor, but I'd have her get an MRI. It'll suck most of it out, I bet.

      Giant magnet.

Yeah, I know lead is non-ferrous.

Look, asking for medical advice for your child on Blind is somewhere between going to an anti-vax Facebook group or just talking to a bag of crystals.

You need, and got, real medical advice. You should listen to it. Lead poisoning is no joke. You need to figure out where her exposure is coming from and eliminate that.

Not assuming anything by the following comment but there was a lead epidemic tied to Ayurvedic supplements/remedies, so if by any chance you gave your daughter some of these, that may be the source.

Indian kaajal is supposed to contain lots of lead as well. Not sure if you have been applying that.

  • Lead poisoning can happen from water, food, paint, batteries, toys.... call the local Water company, they would be very interested in this and will test everything.
