Is there anyone leasing electric cars? Do you like it? How does the state rebate work? Honda Clarity looks way cooler than Nissan Leaf and Chev bolt. For 2017 Honda Clarity, $199 per month, it's pretty much what I spend on gas per month. Looks like I only paid for the gas with a decent free car for three years.
Lease. Can’t beat price. I leased my leaf for $220/month nothing down. Dealer takes the federal credit. You may be eligible for California one but probably make too much money to qualify. I love my LEAF. Fun to drive and cheap. It wouldn’t work for me as an only car but my wife has a long range conventional car.
Exactly, my wife has a Camry and I'm looking for a commute car. In terms of costs it looks great, it can get charged for free in company parking lot.
EV depreciation is very wild, lease protect you from huge drop in case you want to sell or found design defects.
No brainer since you have a regular car already.
Leasing cars seems very smart unless you have the time and education to perform all your own maintenance over a 10 year period to maintain the asset as a good used car sale. I have no interest in changing my own oil, rotating and replacing tires, changing break parts, repairing stains, leather wear, cleaning seat belts, etc. I would rather give the thing back after 3 years and get a brand new one.
Exactly, I heard that it's easier to maintain an electric car as there's fewer mechanical parts.
There isn’t that much maintenance work and it is simple. All modern cars tell you when you need to go to the shop. The dealer takes care of the rest. It’s really pretty simple.
Buying a 2-3 year old cars in good condition and selling after 3-4 years is much cheaper than leasing
Sounds like a lot of work.
The new leaf looks bad ass! I'm hoping to lease it

Why are Americans obsessed with SUV?
Own. Build equity
Do he math. Electric car may last you 10 years if you are super lucky. So how does (purchase price + maintenance)/10 yrs compare to lease price/3 years? Cars are never equity. They will inherently be worth nothing sooner or later.
Cars, especially electric, are depreciating assets. All the “equity” you build up immediately goes into depreciation.
