Currently G8 in Folsom, SW, working in machine learning. 10 years at intel $185k TC. Possible chance to work for NVIDIA. No offer yet, but interviewed well. Remote work (aka work from home) also in AI. Would you? I’m a family man on the fast track to being an Intel lifer. If nothing else this move could give me a market salary reset. Anybody know how healthy the NV culture is? Is it a head-down hell hole with no WL-balance? Backstab culture? Can’t be as bureaucratic as intel!
Not sure if you know, there’s a company wide hiring freeze right now with no end date. Anyway, definitely less bureaucracy and politics compared to intel. Source: coworkers who used to work at intel.
DO IT AND DON'T LOOK BACK
Intel is GPTW anyday
GPT not W?
Well let us know if you actually get extended an offer. Haven't been at intel but from what I heard, chances are better you'd prefer Nvidia than not
Why stop at Nvidia? 10 yrs ML SW you can land new gig at Google or Fb and double your TC
Nvidia is a great company if you end up in a good team. I am happy with my team and manager. WLB can be as good or bad as you want it to be. They are very solid and still the industry leader despite lots of competition.
Where is the Nvidia team located, Santa Clara? Did you talk about scheduling visits to the main office, or will the position be remote 100% of time?
You will love the culture and work as long as you have good leadership.
Go for it. Intel will always you back if it goes south for any reason. They tout the gig economy and how people often need to leave to come back more valuable. Id go for it.
What’s ur base and bonus and rsu
