Edit: looking for experiences with Microsoft exit/leave process I am trying to ensure that 1) I get my year end bonus 2) I get to keep all of my signing bonus 3) I get two weeks off paid I was planning to turn in my 2 weeks 2 weeks before my work anniversary. Is there a risk of termination on the day I give my 2 week? If that’s the case I’d rather go on vacation and give my 2 week on my work anniversary, just to ensure 2) I won’t get my vacation paid out, but I’ll still get 2 weeks free at the end. Does “walkout” mean walkout but with 2 weeks continued employment? Or instant fire? Leaving for a company that is definitely big compete (Amazon/google/fb) TIA For context, I’m no one important. SDE I, not like a tech lead or anything. TC 170k
When did you join msft ? And why are you leaving ?
So if you leave before June 29th you won't get any bonus. For sign on bonus, only applied on first year, so you won't pay it back.
There was someone who got terminated on the notice without a garden leave. Beware! Ps. It's on blind
Is it illegal to lie? Can't you say you are going to something like Service Now?
AFAIK you're not obligated to tell them. Now if you told your buddies and it was a competitor that may cause issues
Leave after June 30th.
Your coworker left (got walked out on the spot) and his health insurance stopped same day, so be aware. Also no pay for 2 week notice
