Hi all, Even after solving around 200 problems I cannot remember the most optimal technique for some areas. Anyone faced same? What’s wrong here? Of course, I did not solve all without looking any hints or discuss or videos. Shall I focus only on company specific problems? I want to improve as fast as possible and optimize my strategy. Hence, asking! Thanks!
Just focus those areas. Do group studying where you explain to your partner the solution etc . Explaining something is very difficult if you dont understand parts of it.

If you tried memorize them you’re screwed.
First of all, I don’t know how you practiced 200 LC. But I follow this. —> Read topics for e.g Tree, Graph from good online courses like Coursera —> Read the problem and try to come up with own solution —> If it passes all the LC test cases than read solution provided on LC —> Optimize again Initially it will take lot of time but your speed will increase after solving 60-70 LC Easy/Medium. I was also in same mindset but purpose of practicing is not about remembering the solution. It is about how fast you can come up with solution after reading and submitting. Most important is believe in yourself.
It’s normal. Instead of solving problems, try to find a commonalities in different problems. I suggest pick an algorithm (e.g binary search) and try solving all problems for which you can use/consider this algo. It will help you in discovering the true potential of any algo and a very effective way to train your brain.
Thanks! It took like 3 months. Like most of you said, I started topic wise and enjoyed solving by finding patterns. And then work pressure, another commitments led to irregularities. And then I am back to square 1. The topics that give me trouble are strings and DP. The fancy algorithms.. like Manacher etc. Do you all practice algorithms every now and often? I have seen that based on those algorithms many problems can be solved as well.
