I was a 63 Pfe at Microsoft. Amazon just offered me an windows system engineering role (not SDE) but I’m not sure what level it is. The base salary is about $5k less than Microsoft, but total comp appears to be higher than Microsoft. I tried negotiating but Amazon said “the total comp is computer generated and we can change it”. I’m wondering if that’s BS too? I’m wondering if you all have noticed a similar situation?
That's some BS
Lol, grade 1 BULLSHIT THE
Sounds like I should avoid going to Amazon. I took the job to do something different. I’m a scom/plat Pfe, so there are plenty of options.
If you are Kevin Holman, I would be very sad if you left.
“OK, tell the computer to increase it.” What if the computer has said pay you 500,001, would they just follow orders? Sounds like a Day 2 company here.
bs. it is determined by hiring manager. how do i know? i had call with my hm and after i presented my other offer he gave me counter offer
This is BS
I’ve also negotiated with Amazon with very little effect after 20 years at Microsoft just letting you know Amazon is a boiler room and their expectations are higher with less pay off than Microsoft be careful what you look for
This is BS... it's totally depend on the hiring manager, interview performance and manager's fund... I didn't face hard time when I negotiated
Interesting. I absolutely don’t want to sell myself short. I’m going to revisit the salary discussion with Amazon to see if they’re willing to bump. Thanks for the input/insights.
It’s BS
