Let’s get real about diversity in the business world here in the US...

Why the smoke and mirrors around diversity hiring i.e., it’ll make products better. Why not just say that there’s a tax credit of up to at least 40% if not more, of the first years wages when companies hire under represented minorities.

Anyone else tired of the bullish!t?

I'm curious to know how many "better qualified candidates" are actually losing a position to a "diversity hire". Maybe those getting passed over are justifiably underqualified.

This logic is fake news. If you’ve ever done hiring you’ll know that the final candidates are usually all qualified. Everybody can’t get the job so someone qualified is always passed over, no matter what their race. Just hired a candidate that happened to be an Indian woman but the top four candidates (a white guy, a white woman, a black woman) all could’ve done the job. They each had strengths and experiences that could’ve made them strong hires (and we’ll hold on to their resumes for future openings), we just couldn’t hire them all.

Stupid to pass up a black woman. We grab every unicorn we see, but were not. FANG so maybe we cant be so picky

We actually reached out to her with the first offer UPGRAYEDD but the JD had two office options (one which was where she is based) and then leads ultimately decided we needed someone in Menlo. The candidate didn’t want to relocate so it just didn’t work out. But my point is we would’ve been happy to have any of the final candidates. Could’ve kept going down to the short list and still would’ve felt confident with who we ended up with. Btw only one final candidate was FAANG, an internal candidate, and they did not receive an offer.

Since transitioning from the founding of the KKK and segregation to generational socioeconomic enslavement and utter dependence on a nanny state its essential minority hiring occurs and is well publicized. We can't afford to have unsightly chains anymore. The product is still people.

HILLARY 2020 suckas! You dont stand a chance with the orange man, we already have a pavlovian hold on most groups.

And why else when you fill out an employment application do you get questions like: What race do you ID with? Are you a protected veteran? What gender do you identify with? etc. Why do you think those questions are asked? So companies can be cute? Fuck no! Companies use that data for exactly these purposes: to get tax breaks.

The people using products don't tend to fit into one neat little bucket. Also plenty of great candidates get turned over because they're not similar to everyone else already in the company.
