I did well on my in-person interviews for an L5 PMM position (non-tech) at Google. As I discussed salary, I also asked if it would be possible to level up. Based on my interview feedback and potential scope of work, the hiring manager and director agreed, if I pass another interview with a director for “calibration” I could come in a level higher (L6). What should I expect in this single interview with a director? How can I ensure I do well and bump up from L5 to L6?
Depends on the company but i would expect a hybrid of experience + behavioral + design interview based on my personal experience
Probably not design for non tech role.
Thanks, but likely not design. But the experience + behavioral wouldn’t be much different than all the other interviews I passed with them. I guess I’m trying to understand what they’d be specifically looking for in my experience and behavioral answers to approve “leveling up”. Thoughts?
Wow! Congrats!
Thank, hoping I can take advantage of this opportunity. Any tips on what they might be asking for / looking for differently in this interview?
Bump! Any help appreciated.
Would love an update on that... How did the level up interview go? What kind of questions were you asked
How did this turn out for you?
🤔
I think I got all “strong hire” across the board. Not sure, but figured I’d ask based on how enthusiastic they were about getting me on board and it worked in getting me this last, incremental interview.
That's amazing man... Didn't know people can request for an "level up" for Google interview, How do you know you have all strong hire? Did you sense that from the recruiter and knowing you are begin offered a L5 position, and you then asked for a level-up interview?
