Do only those folks who make outsized salaries make noise on blind. Because from what I see on blind the comp is way higher than the ones self reported on levels.fyi or anywhere else for that matter
Oh no, if you are in Bay Area, Blind is much more accurate. Trust me. For example, all reports from Facebook E4 are of range 140k - 160k base salary which is accurate according to my multiple sources. However, there is one report of 78k from Singapore. The average is 138k and the math doesn't add up at all. Also, there are no software engineers in Singapore AFAIK
Usually only the folks in the top 2% are active on blind.. I look at the posts and cry myself to sleep
How does levels.fyi get it's data?
I have also noticed that data from h1b fillings are less than both blind and levels. Fyi .. I'm guessing h1b candidates are generally paid less?
H1b fillings only have base salary and the fillings don't need to be the actual salary. As long as the company pays at least the amount in the fillings and the amount is higher than requirements, it is ok
Ah... Didn't know that they are not required to put exact salary.

I trust Levels.fyi salaries much more. There’s very little incentive to fill out their salary form incorrectly. It’s far easier to type a random number for TC in a blind comment. Additionally, the numbers appear far more reasonable
