Hi I recently received an offer from Amazon. Frankly speaking, Amazon has been my dream company. I am just starting my career and I don't mind putting long hours and am a workaholic as long as I am learning. But the posts on blind feel so anti-amazon and I am scared of PIP. Is there anyone who likes their work at Amazon? What do you suggest that I do to love my work here and not be scared of PIP?
I’m on the Dev List so any advice I gave wouldn’t be very useful.
What's dev list? Do you mean pip list?
I think dev plan is a precursor to pip.
Your experience may vary greatly depending on your team and your manager. There may also be frequent re-orgs that can change your experience drastically (due to change in leadership). All in all Amazon is a very tough environment to work in, but you may still learn/benefit alot from the experience (while being paid). I’d say its worth a shot, brace for the worst, learn as much as you can, then plan to jump ship after 3-4 years.
Your job is to keep your manager happy. Focus on doing your job well before taking on more responsibilities. Make sure to be on good terms with your team mates, you will need their help to move up.
You'll be fine dude/dudette. Manager support will be important but other than that work hard and have fun. Crush deliverables, earn the trust of peers, subordinates, and managers within the org and make yourself known in a good way. Its honestly not that bad here.

Avoid teams with only Chinese or Indians especially with a Chinese/Indian manager
Just work hard. Follow the LPs, go well beyond what’s expected of you and you’ll do fine. Blind attracts unhappy trolls and is not representative of the vast majority or Amazonians.
