LinkedIn API access

Can anybody tell me where the “secret rules” are for getting access to the LinkedIn Marketing API program are stored ? Applied three times, each time they asked for more details, final reply was “rejected, sorry” — without a single reason why. Other companies manage to get access, but for small companies trying to compete, it’s like playing against a loaded deck.. Thanks if anybody’s listening!

What the hell are you talking about? Is this some Illuminati shit?

It’s not a difficult question - was just hoping that somewhere in the “Blind universe” somebody from the Microsoft/LinkedIn behemoth could possibly anonymously shed some light. Want to query to find out which URLs are actively being shared, posted, commented on within the LinkedIn ecosystem. There used to be an API exposed for this. I can’t find anywhere to PAY for this data, and trying to apply for the API access is just resulting in flat out denial. Bloody frustrating.

They are definitely not transparent. A friend's start up had similar experience. Finally they have resorted to scrapping stuff. Not so professional for a company running professional networks.

I was hopeful that it was just a matter of time before Microsoft figured out a way to monetize the LinkedIn data — but instead it’s turning into a walled garden. Even for companies who come with $$ in hand! We can’t break through the “form-based firewall” to figure out how to get access. I loathe scraping. :-(
