LinkedIn NYC offer expectation
Hi, I received a verbal offer from LinkedIn NYC for senior software engg. Recruiter asked me for expected salary. I have 6 years of experience and I have competing offer of 250k senior sde. What numbers should I tell? Thanks.
250k-300k is a great start for senior here
LinkedIn NYC is pretty rare, congratulations.
For some reason top of the band for seniors at LinkedIn is only 310, yet peeps claim that they pay better than others *after they adjust every title by one level down* 🙄 Let me tell you that 275 in Seattle is 330 in NYC is 320 in CA after taxes without accounting for cost of living. In NYC, unlike Bay, you can find Seattle priced apartments i.e. 2K range in a good neighborhood, but they will be craptastic. Enjoy the city, and ask for 280 at least.
Because Senior here is just one promo up from SWE. So in general* Senior offers should be compared against L4 ones. *There are exceptions
