Appeared for an onsite interview at LinkedIn yesterday for Senior Software Engineer role. 4 out of 5 rounds went very well. 1 coding and 3 others including Technical Communication, System Design and Host Manager. However in my first coding interview I took more time to code the solution and had couple of minor errors & solved only 1 question. Can it adversely affect or overshadow the other good performances in other rounds? Also in the second coding round I managed to complete 3 questions with perfect code. Can someone share some insight on whether I stand a positive chance on receiving an offer? Sorry if anyone finds the question silly.
Yes you failed and there’s certainly a way to go back in time and change the output to come
If you fail a round badly it's not easy to make up for it. Generally a slight miss needs to be offset by another stonger round. That said some questions are intended to last the entire round but I don't think all tracks have those type of questions.
The decision is usually not based on 1 interview. They will review feedback from all the interviews and then make a decision.
