LinkedIn hates the web
Why is the LinkedIn mobile site so fucking hostile to the web? Every time I load the site I get not one but TWO GOD DAMN PROMPTS to download the app. You want to nag me the first time I come to the site, fine. Drive that mobile app adoption so you can get telemetry on when I am shitting at home or whatever, but if I dismiss two prompts to install the app LEAVE ME BE!
I get a prompt even while using the app. Ugh.
What is the point of LinkedIn unless you are job hunting and messaging recruiters. So it’s like a site you use once in four years. Unless you’re a recruiter I guess.

Funny this is coming from Google plus horse@$&t owners. LinkedIn is not just for job hunting. You can follow tech news in LinkedIn Feed (which is much better than cat pictures flowing in the feed of sinking ship called Facebook, and of course the not-around-anymore Google Plus). You can use LinkedIn Learning to learn new skills and improve while in your current job. You can use Profinder for participating in side gigs, or asking for help in gigs. You can get insights about companies and jobs, and salaries in case you are interested in learning whether you are paid your own worth of experience. When and if you have your own company, you can use Recruiter tool to hire the right people. So much to do here, not your average social network that became extinct or in the process of sinking.

Why are you so angry? What else is bothering you? What are the sources of your stress? Surely our incompetence is not unique in the industry. Once you calm down, make a list of things you wish were different and do something about the ones that are most bothersome.
This post is my list. My entire list. It doesn't seem like incompetence by LinkedIn, it seems like some asshole ran an AB test and found that constantly nagging mobile users drives native app installs. That is a shitty thing to do. It is not difficult to set a flag in a cookie or local storage. Please create a new issue on the responsible team's jira board. Fix it. P.S. I appreciate your work at LinkedIn 😘
If the A/B test showed this is more effective, I doubt the asshole will have the incentive or the power to reverse it. After all, we are not a 'not for profit' company. We have to pay the bills and make the shareholders happy.
