Keeping everything else constant on the offer, should one join LinkedIn or Salesforce ?
I hear LinkedIn has great perks and benefits. What does Salesforce have?
If you are a traditional sales guy then go for SalesForce...with LinkedIn you will have a very different kind of sales..I would assume it’s more like inside sales...not very exciting. Another data point I have not heard any of good sales people joining LinkedIn...
I worked with some folks at LinkedIn at my last company. These were field sales people who sold to certain regulated industries and the government. It seemed like they were all very happy but that was before the acquisition by Microsoft so culture could have changed a little bit since. As far as I know none of them have left there positions so maybe not. This could also be related to the position I was in but the sales people I worked with at LinkedIn were a few years older then the people I know who do sales at Salesforce. Salesforce was more of a late 20s crowd and all the field sales reps I worked with at LinkedIn were mid-30s
I have heard Salesforce has ‘Hire and Fire’ policy for Sales people who do not meet targets consistently. Maybe, somebody from Salesforce can comment.
think about this, salesforce sales is typically very large, tens of millions deal. Commission is very good.
Can you please share what the 2 offers were?

I am no tech person but I would join LinkedIn as it might yield opportunities at MSFT. Not saying that that's the main reason to join but a good option to have.
Looks like s/he is coming from Microsoft.
