I went through 2 hr long LinkedIn phone-screen last week. After keeping me waiting for over 10 days, just heard back that they are not moving forward. It was for a Staff position. Really surprised with the outcome. Both the rounds went really well and I was able to code the problem with the best possible optimization. Even the leadership round went very well. I have completed quite a few FANG interviews. But was surprised with the outcome with no feedback what so ever. Disappointed with LinkedIn process.
Almost the same happened with me for an EM position at LinkedIn. I heard it after much more than 10 days
Just move on Your interviewers might just have had a bad day and decided to no hire for all picky reasons If you have confidence in yourself, it's their loss not yours by making a wrong decision So just move on
Most mature answer. I'd like to add that it is important to share such an experience with the community. If you really like the company then share it with the recruiter and the referrer as well.
Recruiters work according to priorities. True a good recruiter would always follow through timely. Reality is probably they have too many cases to work on. If you pass they will always follow up quickly. If you are ghosted just take it as implicit nah and move on.
I was more curious about what accounts for a pass. I understand that most people feel that they did well but I have gone through a fair bit of interviews and I feel I nailed the interview. The code was written bug free and optimized. All leadership questions were answered very well and the interviewer seemed happy with my responses. So was just surprised. Would have loved to get some feedback. Do Linkedin employees have access to the feedback?
In general no. There is privacy policy around accessing user data. Only people with hiring authority can view the feedbacks.
I'm in a similar situation, went on site for this screening recently, still waiting for result.
Welcome to the club. It’s all a numbers game
