Was at LinkedIn for the on-site. Awful experience. One of the two interviewers in every round seemed totally uninterested. Despite doing well in every round, they call and reject with no feedback in less than half day. This is in sharp contrast to the phone rounds where I got detailed feedback about the interview. How is it possible that I did so well in the phone interviews and then suck so bad in the onsite? I call bullshit.
My interviewers were all super friendly! One of the best onsites I’ve ever experienced.
Oh, where is the patriarchy now?
Whet
That’s because of yummy lunch I think
lol
Why not give this feedback to Jeff Weiner? His mission is to help everyone find jobs and if his company is not setting it right then how is going about with his mission.
Aww, that's adorable...
It’s all in ad campaign and mission and vision statement. We all can talk a lot but implementing is difficult. LinkedIn internal job referral is also a shit.
It’s luck of the draw to be honest. Some interviewers are great at it and some suck. Sorry you had a bad experience. To be honest most of us understand the importance of interviewing and don’t want to miss out on a good hire. Unfortunately more junior or less tenured folks take it for granted.
My interview experience was best at LinkedIn among all the FANGL companies + some unicorn startups, got detailed feedback for each round as well.
And now you're working for Fortnite?
This was recent, waiting on numbers from FGL.
Why leave fortnite, they are making a shit load of 💰
"Did well in phone interview"🤭
The reason one out of two seemed disinterested is probably because they were apprentices. We try to have one master and one apprentice interviewer (like a shadow) for every module. You need a certain number of interviews under your belt before getting promoted to master. The master picks the question and drives the interview while the apprentice watches and learns. When they feel comfortable they start asking questions and engaging more.

LinkedIn is full of rest and vest engineers who don’t care about giving candidates a good interview experience.
Well I see that Microsoft acquisition was quite successful then
I disagree. I have interviewed terrible candidates but gave them a good experience so that they would want to try again later. But again, YMMV.
