Living in Renton Highlands

I have recently shifted to US, and am looking for a house to rent. I quite like a place in Renton, and the school nearby is also ok (greatschools rating 7), but many of my friends are advising against living in Renton mainly because of the relatively higher crime rate. The problem is, I am not getting a comparable place in more preferred areas such as Bellevue, kirkland and Redmond etc within my budget. Can someone who has lived there please describe their experience? Is it a safe place to live?

The highlands are pretty safe, and honestly between downtown Seattle and downtown Renton I would rather risk my life on the latter lmao.

I’ve lived in Renton ( the highlands) for several years. It feels quite safe to me.

Try Issaquah or Bothell.

I have lived in Renton highlands for a few years and I have no 0 regrets, I saved a lot of money back in the day moving here. Money that I can now invest in other things, and honestly In terms of safety I will also pick this over Seattle

how is the commute to downtown seattle from renton?

Pretty bad traffic-wise. I-5 will be a parking lot going into the city in the morning as well as leaving in the afternoon.

As an added bonus, people don't shit on the streets in Renton.

Do they do at the place where you live or have lived in past?

Try the far west end of Renton highlands. Quieter, and in Issaquah school district

Maple Valley is a good option too.
