Just had a recruiter reach out to me for a position in Sunnyvale. I’ve never been there before and don’t know anyone out there. Anyone know what it’s like living in Sunnyvale as a 24y/o single male? How is the housing, traffic, outdoor activities, etc.? Compared to Los Angeles.
If you are Indian, great. Tons of Indians and Indian restaurant and groceries. Else horribly boring.
I used to live in downtown Sunnyvale. It is extremely boring.
Super expensive
I always avoided living there since I’m single and it’s no where close to being called a big city
Mini india
I lived in santa Clara for one year and, like others have said, it was extremely boring. I've since moved to SF and take the bus to/from South bay and I haven't looked back
Housing : sucks (2,400 for a one bedroom). Traffic: sucks big time. You won't miss LA. Outdoor activities: No complaints if you're into hiking and stuff. And yeah tons of Indians, sorry!
Sure, welcome to Sunnymale.

Google CFO confirms 'large-scale' layoffs (Apr 17)
Basically big city vs suburb. Sunnyvale and most cities around it is a suburb, with a very small “downtown” (a few blocks of restaurants and bars). Closest big city, would be SF.
The closest big city is San Jose. Why do people always forget about the largest city in the Bay Area?
Because sjc is not cool!
