My friend is looking for Business Analyst positions in Seattle. He has 4 years of experience. Works a lot on SQL and Tableau.
1. He should go for a BIE role. The pay is more competitive for the skill set. 2. Tons of listing on job finder to refer him to. Just find any org that doesn’t completely suck and enter his info.
Plenty of Business Analyst positions around. Be sure to search for other terms and transferable titles. Search for skills rather than titles. I'm in the industry and I've been called a Systems Analyst, Data Analyst, BI Analyst, Biz Strategist, BI Strategist and the hilariously vague Lead Analyst. Business Analyst is effectively a meaningless term so your friend may actually fit well for Business Intelligence, Product Analyst, Financial Analyst, Business Strategist, Data Science, or a litany of other meaningless titles. P.s. I say meaningless as there is no standard really. A PA could be a DS, BA or BI in a different company/department depending on the needs and how they interpret the role.
Thanks for responding. He interviewed for 3 different roles and eventually they inform he is not a fit. He is transitioning from consulting to tech and therefore it is hard to figure out what’s wrong.
