I want V6 powered SUV to haul family and weekend trips to Home Depot for home repairs. New ones are costing close to 40k but my budget is less than 30k including taxes. I am thinking of 3 yr old off lease vehicles such as 1. Acura MDX 2. BMW X3 3. Honda Pilot or highlander bit bigger for me. Any suggestions?
As someone who has owned and worked on a succession of used BMWs, don’t buy a used BMW unless you are into working on it yourself and enjoy BDSM.
Looking to buy used off-lease vehicle and wants to keep it for long term. It should have at least than 200+ hp for hilly roads
I was really happy with my Toyota RAV4. It’s in your budget, especially used.
Did you check out Pacifica? Has good reviews
+1 on this. Get over the minivan stigma and this is the best choice for the money. You get much more interior room, and all the tech would cost 2x if you got it in an suv. Total winner for hauling a family.
++ on Pacifica
Asking for a budget suv then listing Bmw, Acura as options. Lol Get a 5-year old Ford Explorer. That shit is cheap on repairs and already depreciated. It is by far the most common suv in history.
If you get one in white or black, people will think you’re a cop
Well, all these Acura/bmw 3+ yr used are around 25k . Since these are luxury vehicles, reliability would be higher
You mean repair costs are higher? Luxury car is not a reliable car. That Bmw will cost you 5x as much to maintain and repair at a dealer than something like the explorer.
Jeep grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4. I bought 2016 model in early 2017 for under 30k. You might still be able to get prior year models at discount
I have 75k SUV for 8k . It is very clean as i am original owner. You will pay almost minimum taxes and registration fee :) Slick deal
What’s the model and year you have?
Just get a new or minimally used CX5 / RAV4 / CRV and call it a day.
If it’s just a lease then bmw is the most fun . If it’s to own then go for MDx for long term repairs etc
