Looking to ask 370-380k for a Principal Lead (L65) position at Microsoft, feasibility?

I have 5 years managing people, 3 of them in Amazon. The position is mostly a horizontal move from Amazon to MS so I would like to at least increase TC. Currently 320k Any advice? What is the top band for 65, I would like to be prepared to lower expectations it's necessary . Thanks.

Plausible with a big onhire award, but you'd need enough current unvested stock or a competing offer to get it. Also beware that the annual stock awards won't add up to nearly as much as that onhire award so your comp will be racing towards a serious cliff if you intend to stay long term.

Why would anyone stay at Microsoft if after 4 years of annual stock awards comp will never catch up?

They don’t. That’s your answer. Refreshers are the lowest among top tier.

Why not ask for 670k? The industry is begging for more out-sourcing this way, but go ahead, do your thing, because no one is going to look after individuals after one decade of their career.
