Low ball- sr analyst salary in analytics

Went to the final round and the company provided me an offer which was 30,000 lower than stated range. Initially the HR agreed on the range i provided 130-140 and once it got to the offer they stated 100K. I have 4 years of exp in analytics/data sci. I asked the HR again to provide me their best offer. What should be my next steps going forward as I was basically lied to initially regarding the salary range and spent a lot of time/PTO days in the interview process.

To clarify you told them your target range was $130-$140k and they continued with the interview process and they only offered you $100k? The role/salary band is probably within the $130-$140k but based on your interviews, they feel you are only worth $100k. I don’t think they agreed to pay you $130k - $140k.

What you said makes no sense at all. They told me that the range for this position is what I asked and then gave me a really low offer. You don't need to state people's worth without knowing and honestly comes off as rude from your side without knowing my background.

Um I didn’t. I prefaced it with the words to clarify...

Unlikely that HR “agreed” to your range. They may have asked your salary requirements but HR is just assessing whether or not there’s a ballpark for what they have budgeted for the position. The reality is that they aren’t obligated to offer you anything and you’re not obligated to accept it. If you were worth $140k to them and that was in their budget, they would have offered it to you. Your leverage is that you don’t have to accept and then they’ll need to move on to another candidate. Best of luck
