Got internship offers offers at both. Cruise would be the product engineering team, Lyft won't give a team until later. Both are @15b valuation but Cruise seems to be growing faster. Comp is comparable at both(for internship, full-time I think Lyft wins). Hoping to hear thoughts on the work, career growth opportunities and upside at either and how they would stack up against Google/Facebook(interned at both but not practically excited by the prospect of working there again). Thank you tc 8K/mo + housing (fb intern)
Wow how do you get so good
Lots of luck and interview prep I guess. Mock interviews with friends helped most
I was an intern at Lyft last summer. It was a great summer and was able to have an amazing impact with a cool team. The University team also does a great job taking care of interns. I would definitely endorse Lyft. It doesn’t hurt that the pay, perks, and return offer are top of market too
Can you PM me? (It won't let me pm you)
If you're interested in self driving cars, Cruise would be a good choice. Lyft also has a self driving car division but it's relatively new and a bit behind atm.
Wouldn't be working in AV. Normal swe team I think.
How’s TC at Lyft?
This is for an internship. Big 4 level.
I heard it was 9k plus housing last year.
I’d pick Lyft
Any reason why?
Coz our product team is not main focus right now.. too much eng things to solve
I’d pick lyft too. But only in the context of product eng internship (cuz more established product and bigger team = more opportunity to actually learn)
All things being equal, choose Lyft. You will work in the context of a useful and practical product that folks like.
Fair enough, also probably one of the only Uber employees I haven't seen crapping on Lyft any chance that get. Good luck @ Uber!
