Currently L7 (non-SDM). In early talks with Facebook. Recruiter said the mid point for the open role is: 190k 20% $350k/4 yrs I said that’s way too low, so then she asked what would make it worthwhile. I told her for that base, I’d need $1MM RSU. This feels totally off... Feels like a M1 role? I’m not sure if they’re just lowballing to see what I counter with. It’s a lot lower than my current TC. Should I continue the convo and try to get up leveled?
Looks lower than what you’d make as L7. Wtf?
This is in engineering, right? This looks even worse than E5, at least on the RSU side which is severely lacking.
I don’t think this is an M offer.
Give recruiter your expectations. If you say you are in early stage conversation then the recruiter is stuck in guessing where you might level out at based on limited information. We don’t land on level until after onsite and candidate review.
That’s good to know. Maybe the recruiter is putting feelers out to see what I am expecting.
Definitely not an engineering manager offer.
20% bonus means what she quoted is L6/M1, though 190k is low end of the band if you’re talking about SWE Manager and MPK/SEA/NYC. (And 350k equity/4yrs is quite low as well.) If you’re talking non-SWE manager or another location it may be closer to mid band.
em1? base can be 220k, rsu up to 1m.
What does RSU look like for M2 and D1?
$1M for M1?
What did you get?
Curious what you ended up with?
Curious what were the final numbers

M1 should be around 600k plus.
Typical M1 at FB is 500K, M2 is 700K and D1 is 1M.
M1 and M2 are that high? That's insane.
