ML Interview at Waymo

A friend of mine is interviewing for a ML role at waymo and will do a phone screen soon. What is this interview like at Waymo? It doesn't seem like it's going to be a regular leetcode screen. He was told the questions would be open ended and related to robotics, but it's not clear what that means. Has anyone gone through this and can provide some advice?
