Currently in a non-technical ops role at Uber and studied finance in undergrad. Considering going back to school for data science / analytics to be considered for more technical roles (data science, product). Is it worth it or should I just invest time in self learning courses?
The more lucrative option would be to pursue a M.S. in computer science. Then you could specialize in machine learning. You may need to take some prerequisites at the undergrad level before applying. It’s worth it if you attend a top school. If you plan on staying in the business world, get a MBA instead.

How are the jobs in finance
UIUC MCS-DS is a good one if you want an option like that. I’m in it
Or you can look at Georgia Tech for MSCS - ML. I am studying while applying to jobs

School is worth it if you don’t have connections that will vouch for you and refer you to these roles (assuming you complete self study)
