Hi Got some numbers for Microsoft level 61. Base 135k RSU 30k over 4 years (lol) Sign on 20k( less again ) When I asked for more RSU and bonus recruiter told me that they have maxed out. I have to reject the offer and the process will start from scratch it seems. No idea what does that mean !! Looking for strategies to bump up RSU and bonus. Current TC 134k in the bay I have 1.6 years exp in USA and 2 years in India if that matters . Should I take this offer or no ? This is for Redmond location.
Low ball for sure, I think entry level university recruits have better RSU than this! only way you can negotiate is with a competing offer. Do you know which team they are hiring you for ?
Yeah no idea how to bump up the RSU’s. Yeah I was hired for ODSP group. Any comments about the group ??
Looks like it's the OneDrive and SharePoint team. I have no idea on how the work and culture is like there, maybe someone here on Blind can maybe help you out. Good luck! Btw are you dev or pm ?
Get a competitive offer. In my many experiences, without at least one ideally two competitive offers, they just won’t give you a good one.
Can anybody tell me what’s the ideal number for level 61 at Microsoft Redmond location ?
You will get a more RSUs as a new grad because there is strong completion in hiring strong college hires. With only a few years of experience the fear is you left your first job so quickly because you were bad at it. There is not enough of a success story to justify paying high RSUs to lure you away from whatever golden handcuffs you currently have.
Everything shitty
The group is very good. Lots of principals and seniors and they get shit done. You will learn a lot. The reality is that for an external offer without a competing one, that offer is pretty good. And really your current comp is about 100k in seattle. They are offering you 170 TC over the 4 years which is a 70% increase. I would either get another offer if you want to start from scratch, or take the one you have. The truth is I dont know how much better you're going to do.
Thanks for giving some insights on how ODSP group is. Is the cost diff between Seattle and bay that much ?? I heard almost similar rent for housing atleast .
30%. Look at bankrate. 20% col difference, 10% tax
Just for reference I’m a 62 my offer was: 148,000 / 50k over four years (lol) / 50k Sign on. This was a bump up after negotiations.
Cool. So if I bump up my rsu m I good to join if I consider TC only as a parameter ?
I think for a 61 your offer is good.
This is a good offer, better than my base and the stocks and sign on were exactly the same
Did you join them !! ?? Did you negotiate ??
Good offer for your experience
Reject it and take the better offer.
Unfortunately don’t have better ones :(
Then stop whining lowball as it's your current value in the market.
