Most people on here are saying they got feedback same day or within a few days. What could possibly be the hold up with something like this? Interviewing multiple candidates is the only thing I can think of. I'm thinking I shouldn't hold my breath, but if I'm being compared, it would mean I've beaten other candidates in the last 2 weeks? I guess? I asked the recruiter a week ago to get back to me by today. And sent another email this morning.
Recruiter on vacation. Happened to a friend.
Oh, wow. I could see that happening (maybe the HM went on vacation in my case). Hopefully I'll hear back from the recruiter today.
Patience. Unless you are interviewing in beginning on the year recruiters will take very long. It’s end of fiscal year and a lot of internal movements.
Cool, thanks. Tbh, the only reason why I'm worried is that most people say they got their results (good or bad) very soon. I'll be patient, thank you.
MS has and does ghost after onsite. Hope that's not the case for you but it's possible.
That'd be pretty unprofessional, but okay. I'll just act as though I didn't get it.
Sorry, happened to me
Took them 6 weeks to reject me after an on site. Recruiter would reach out every other week
Okay, so like, are they Google, now? That sounds like Google-level turnaround. I guess I'll just act like I didn't get it and move on. Couldn't get other offers to force their hand.
The MSFT process is really slow! I assumed I was ghosted for the role I got hired!
During that time did your recruiter respond your messages?
He didn't for a week, then apologized as he was away, but even then,.the process is slow...
Most time this kind of delay is from hiring managers. Likely they are evaluating among multiple strong interview performances. Recruiters usually respond quickly once the product team makes the decision
Gotcha. Well, my background is also a very good match for the team on top of probably my best performance of the 4 onsites I did. Time will tell. I hope to make it to Satyaville. Benefits aside (and that's huge!), MS is sounding more and more like a place I want to spend a good 5+ years.
Thanks all. Heard back today, they went with another candidate. Wish I could get feedback. I answered all questions and follow-ups. Guess someone answered faster.
Good luck next time, there is no wait period in MSFT if you fail.
Thanks much!! I'll wait for a bit. Although I didn't get any hard questions, I'll prep with more LC hard, and I want to read some books on algo and design. Then try for both Google and Microsoft at the same time. And I 100% need to practice soft skill questions, which I totally neglected this time. I ran my answers by blind and basically it sounds like that could have been a key reason why I got no offers of my 4 onsites.
Ghosted. Move on
Is ghosting really a thing for interviews, though? This is a basic thing. I had 6 interviews with them.
Happened to me multiple times. But ghosting after on-site is unheard of.
