Making money as CEO of a early stage Startup CEO

I have my own seed funded company with about $600k in funding, after 6 months without a paycheck. We are about to launch and have managed to acquire some major clients for when we do. However, even once we do launch we will have to bootstrap this until we get a proper series A. What jobs do you recommend for supplement income while starting your own company if you are a nontechnical CEO? What Salary would you budget for in a series A Venture Round for yourself, or should you budget a salary for yourself?

My buddy flies to Vegas to strip during the weekends. Can make a solid 1000$ a night

Of course you should pay yourself. It depends on where you live, but I think paying yourself enough to minimally exist and have health insurance is perfectly fine.

Go for a pre series A or a bridge or whatever. Taking focus off and trying to do something else won’t be helpful for your company or the rest of your team members. Also try getting advance from your customers and use that to fund the company.

Why can’t you pay yourself with part of the seed funding? If I were your investor, I would want you to do that rather than take a side gig and reduce your focus on the startup!

Asking investors for money to pay yourself a salary doesn’t always go over well. Spending money for coders to write software is another matter. Can you run the company out of your apartment and have the startup pay the rent? Also order pizza for the employees and you have your room and board taken care of :-)

Take 50k as a salary.

Charge you clients enough to cover modest salaries.

Drive for Uber and make $3 fiddy an hour or pay yourself $5K/mo as soon as you get your next round of funding.
