On the flipside of that, IMO some companies might tactically hire more h1b workers to reduce turnover. Just a thought. Especially if they’re “promised” a greencard. It’s just very sad to see all these talented h1 workers rotting in a shitty place just because of h1 / waiting for gc
Our HR would low ball them when hiring and then adjust their salary to prevailing wage when they got H1B. Ridiculous I know. The gap is quite big say hiring at 60K and then have to adjust to 100K depends on the level. Hiring manager has no say in this because company is cheap.
