Worried that our top performer is an attrition risk. How do managers handle this?
A girl in our team traveled 5 times this year(business travel) one travel is for a god damn ‘see inside yourself’ training. All company expense. But I need to go to a required training manager talks about budget and asks me to choose one nearby main campus(which is nothing in the following 6 months) Isn’t this funny? What will you do if your manager like this?
Maybe you too should kneel before him?

Have a crucial conversation with you manager and hold her/him accountable with facts to back it up and tell them you are not being treated fairly in this case. They might tell you that “don’t look at what others can do”, you just tell them on the spot that you are leaving for Facebook. LoL

Is the other woman in a different situation than you are? New to company, higher level, better performer, different role requirements, etc? Is there a different characteristic about her that makes you feel she would get it out of bias? Younger, better looking, more flirtatious, specific ethnicity, etc? Perhaps budget was there when she was signing up and now it’s gone. That just means the manager is bad at managing budget. If she gets to go on another trip after you’ve been denied, then you know for sure.
Yes, there are so many dimensions, which makes it easy for managers to play the petty favoritism game.
Reading all these entitled post by fellow Googlers, I feel every one should be made to work for Amazon for 2 years after they graduate. 😂😂
You call this biased? Then you don’t know what is a biased manager! They pick on you for everything. They push you and belittle you. Nothing you do is right. But if other people do the same thing, they say it’s good.
Why dont you bring this up to your manager? The likelihood of the reason being some nefarious plot is pretty low. More likely its there have been so many trips so budget is scarce. Maybe the "girl" was just aggressive about wanting to go to trainings, some people are like that. You people need to grow up, damn.
I will main his life hell by asking him tough questions. I am very good at paining my managers.
