Market hourly rates to charge FANG? (SF)

Hi folks, what are some ranges for market rates to charge FANG for contract work? Yes, contract. Not FTE at this point. Yes I know I don't get PTO, signing bonuses, stock, and all the fancy FTE stuff. Fulltime contract for now because of reasons. Sr Software Eng YOE 8 Current TC ~ 200 SF, CA ty

20-30% markup over what you'd get as FTE if you're going off market rate for regular hires. If you're special and not easily replaceable, just under what your work would cost to do with internal resources given needed learning time. If you're doing menial work that's just getting outsourced to extra hands, whatever it takes to undercut the local market.

This is way too low. With a 20-30% markup you'd probably be significantly cheaper than FTE due to payroll taxes and benefits.

Do you care to share where you get the number from? Personal rate you have used in the past? A friend? A consulting/staffing firm? Thank you

$300 to $400 per hour is a good rate

I mean. You could get pto, bonuses.. not all contractors are 1099. Some are actually full time with their contracting company. Bill rate is usually 100-130/hr to the contracting company. Good contractors can do between 120-150k tc with benefits, sometimes higher, but not common.

Bill rate is usually 100-130/hr to the contracting company for senior software engineers at FANG? Are you serious? Seems very low from what others are saying.

That's too low. 300-400 is more like it. Netflix pays more

^^ good contractors def make more than 120-150 especially in Bay Area. I had a contractor offer for Moody’s for 180k TC, just 2 yoe. I imagine someone w 8 yoe and higher current TC can do much better

Easy 350-400.

Have you gotten contract work at that rate? I'm just curious to know where some of the numbers I'm seeing are coming from. That is a really impressive rate!
