Breweries pay notoriously low...unless you’re trying to learn the ropes of brewing industry there’s little money in it
I’m a marketing specialist in upstate NY with five YOE and I make 65k.
Also RIT grad, what year did you graduate?!
For a director level position, the salary and bonus figures are LOW. That said, the requirements aren’t really in-line with the title. It’s more of a manager/head of job description. The good news is that job titles are professional currency. While you wouldn’t be making director coin in this role, you’d have the title, which will go a long way if/when you move on to another company. The bad news is that the title is so high level and the job itself is so low level that your career advancement prospects at this place don’t look good. Where else there to go? With a title like that, most employers would have NO qualms about increasing the scope of your responsibilities (but not pay). You could definitely make this work to your advantage, just be smart. Try to negotiate non-salary factors like time off, work equipment (you could negotiate to keep your work laptop), severance package (in the event of company lay-offs, you could get 3 months instead of 1 or 2) and possible a higher performance based bonus structure (you’d get more, but they have the peace of mind knowing that you’d need to work for it). Whatever you decide to do, get any and all changes/promises IN WRITING. Good luck!
This is terrible. Marketing Director should be 80-150k depending on size of brewery. Rough output? Top 50 brewery?
