Mass Indian exodus with recession/layoffs

Looking at the layoffs at Uber and predictions for a recession, I feel there will be a mass Indian exodus.

What do you think? Any viable backup options?

Interesting. So are you saying that I can get an interview too cause Indians are better than all other races or are you hinting to the fact that Facebook lacks diversity?

I guess what @rhYhu00 is trying to imply is that the fact you are a pothead (based on your comment) is closely co-related with the fact that you work for a tier-2 company, likely tier 2.5 or 3.

You uber seem a pothead which is likely correlated to your recent layoff. Op could have made a comment about h1b workers which are from different nationalities not just Indians. So why should we care about Indians and not everyone else? What else do they bring to the table that other don’t? The answer is nothing apart from additional lack of diversity given their already significant presence..so I personally don’t care if there is an Indian exodus

What? I’m seeing a huge influx of Indians coming in to Bay Area along with Asians. Poor locals are being driven out of Bay Area.
If not Uber, there are tons of tech opportunities especially in consulting firms.
It’s now a norm for families in Indian states that their Kid has go to United States for education and obtain a job if possible. It’s more of a status issue.
The number of Indians is going to increase ever more.

      2 inches exploding banana 😂😆🤣😝😜
I’m talking about companies beyond consultancy companies like FAANG and then tier 2 companies like Intel, Oracle, Microsoft... tons and tons of Indians

Consultancy and sweat shops aren’t even considered in my list.. but unfortunately for non-Indians, these sweat shops are showing locals how work can be done cheaper with same or better quality. So you have a mass influx of Indians from every direction...

Let’s think rationally: for a company to run successfully in a large scale, you got to outsource your work to India / Eastern Europe. India has the highest number of engineering graduates 🎓 graduating each year and you have a huge ecosystem of software firms that can perform the tasks you want to outsource. So Indians have the advantage of learning the systems and domain knowledge pretty fast and you have COEs and domain experts already ready to train the next set of batch.
It is highly likely for Indians in US to successfully execute these outsourced firms

Lmao Oracle guy really thinks Indians are going to take over tech via master race bs. There’s diversity hiring being implemented more and more in FAANG and that alone is a factor that throws off any predictions. If you look at where the majority of US residing Indians work, you’ll realize it’s not FAANG. Also with more people diving into software over time, it’s moronic to assume that Indians will only grow in percentage of all software employees. The next president will be a factor as well depending on who wins. I have yet to hear anyone who is not Indian demanding and advocating for more Indians. Having more is not a popular opinion and it doesn’t work with diversity hiring. This doesn’t even dive into how Incompetent most Indians are in both tech and communication. Only cheap consultancies love them.

It takes 15 years (maybe, nobody has waited that long yet!) only for a country that has oversubscribed to their quota. Now ask me how and why they've oversubscribed. Excellent question, sir. Because Indians are willing to work for sub-market salary for a long time, as long as that puts them outside of India

Next questions you should ask yourself - do you really want to compete with people willing to live for a decade on sub-market wage? If the answer is No, call your senator and warn them about the dangers of bill S386

I don't like that too. I'm in favor of kicking all of those sub pay folks out. It's sad real skilful individuals are affected. I hope I can count myself as the latter. I don't even support removing the per country quota or increasing any quota. Lots of Indians here already clearly.

Making things merit based sounds fair.

I'm in favor of kicking off sub par engineers. It's because of poor immigration policies allowing anyone and everyone that even smarter engineers are grouped along with mediocre talent and have to bear the burden and blame.

Butthurt EPAM guy, you do realize all this artificial protection makes you no different from the Midwestern manufacturing worker? Market forces eventually take over. If the ONLY reason you have your job is because your government prevents anyone else from doing it, especially someone who learnt your trade from a place that doesn't have electricity 24x7, then you got more serious questions to ask yourself.

America is not close to recession

Germany is actually in recession right now because their broke from benefits.

So using their example America will be in recession if someone like bernie or warren become potus. Their ideas will break America and break up big tech.
