https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2019-06-25-razer-cuts-ties-with-streamer-following-twitter-remarks-about-men Where is the outrage from free speech warriors like when YouTube cuts advertising when someone frequently makes homophobic comments?
“Gattuzzo added later that "non-shitty men" were an exception and not a majority.” Good riddance. Sexism goes both ways. Equality means equal consequences for both sexes when you say dumb shit like this.
"Both" sexes? Ban this poaster!
Smh banned for telling the truth
@OP You're trying to equate the world's dominant video platform (YouTube) deplatforming several of the most popular right-wing commentators and comedians with a single advertiser dropping a single streamer? Facebook didn't ban her from using its platforms.
Nah, I’m succeeding at showing how the legitimate issues of the internet (access, public space vs private platforms, etc) are hypocritically turned into a persecution-fantasy by conservatives.
You haven't shown hypocrisy if the examples aren't similar in magnitude.
“Gattuzzo has since shared a longer explanation on Twitlonger, and has apologized for a "rude" reaction but declined to apologize for defending herself.” Honest question, where was the attack that she had to “defend” herself from? Someone said she “could ride” them. While rude and likely inappropriate, it doesn’t seem like an attack that you need to defend yourself from, especially when it’s from someone random online.
“Likely inappropriate” as in you have some doubt that stating some random person you don’t know should ride you is inappropriate? I’m not sure if I should be baffled by that comment ...or by the insinuation that rude comments from strangers are any less offensive than those from people you know. Or by the idea that the nature of being online should somehow excuse or diminish the severity of this kind of behavior. And yet her punishment for matching his tone in response is met with swift punishment. And it almost seemed like - for a second there - that you were saying hurling sexual epithets isn’t a form of verbal abuse and attack. But then you too refer to it as an attack while questioning its existence, soooo... Wtf am I missing here?
“Wtf am I missing here?” That I’m saying it’s not an attack. People can be offended as much as they want about it, I really don’t care. What I am saying though is that people (it was the reporter in this case) shouldn’t label it as an attack because an attack is at a whole different level than what some rude or offensive online comment is. It belittles people who have actually been attacked (whether physically or emotionally but in person).
Who is dis? Who cares? Mining for diamonds are we?
GAMERS RISE UP
Think about how many dick pics she gets sent daily, and understand her perspective
So if an attractive male streamer got provocative messages from his female audience (yes, that happens) and said “you bit***s need to stop, my wife is getting mad” or “damn, are all women this sluttyy?” would you or the general public “understand his perspective”?
Also, I’m not saying any of it is ok from either sex, but regardless of provocation both cases should be punished equally in the eyes of a sponsor of a public figure. If it’s wrong for a man to say something regardless of intent or cause, a woman should get the same treatment. Equality for everything, not just the parts that are beneficial.
Feminists are a cancer to society.
It was just a heated gamer moment (tm)
That’s the good type of cancer we need
