What level and team? Note that there is likely more negotiation room on stock.

Aim for level 61 since you have four years relevant industry experience on top of your master's degree. I've seen it happen to people after completing their master's with little to zero industry experience. Honestly, they didn't deserve such a high level but clearly it's possible.

@GuessWhooo Thank you for your response. I don't have experience in product but as a developer and Analyst. Also, I have another offer from a bank for an Analyst II position. Pay is not so much but I'm wondering if I can still ask for 61?

Ask for 61. You will get at least 60 for sure just by asking. even some undergrads get L60 offers. CS master's with little experience usually get L60 offers, MBAs all get L61.

No need for direct product experience in your case. You have real world experience and will be working with engineers so you can at least speak their language and provide value. Don't sell yourself short!!

I was offered a base pay of 109k , sign on bonus 25k and stocks worth 70k. I couldn't find the information on the level I belong to. Which is the best figure to negotiate my salary with?

You can negotiate. But most roles have a level set way before the job is ever listed and you’re not getting a higher level than it was listed for. So just depends on if they left you were worth the highest offer to begin with or if you have room and are able to convince them. Base has some flexibility, stock has the most. I’m a PM and my role is 61-65 range. Note that PM is in different orgs. Engineering and Product is going to be higher than Sales and Services but require more experience.

This won't apply for a new grad, but once you are senior they can rescope a posted role and change the level if they like you enough. I've had this done at FB and MSFT.

@RockLobata So the best thing to do is to work hard? I'm from a non CS major. Does it matter now or in the long run?

Work hard. Focus on learning the business so you can make decisions that are beneficial for everyone, not just your team. Be the person people want to work with. I'm a non-CS major and have been L7/IC7/L66 at G/FB/MS.

It is for Seattle. I'm not sure of the break down yet. I'm yet to receive my offer letter. Just wanted to know everything beforehand prior to accepting my offer.

I have a master's degree but in a non CS major. The primary focus of my interview was resume specific.
