They just reported it’s up 98% but how much revenue does it generate? If it’s only 300 million then it’s easy to double but if we’re talking a billion or more then that’s great. So does anyone know the revenue from Azure?
Cloud as a whole generated $7.8 billion of revenue. So Azure could have at least $2-3 billion?
Ok I think I found the answer: 3.7 billion. Last I heard AWS last year was on pace for 20 billion revenue run rate. So Azure grew 1.85 billion (100%) and AWS grew by 5 billion (40%).
Yes, we are not catching up closely with AWS but we are still No 2 and doing great, I believe.
AWS is still at least 4 times bigger than Azure in terms of revenue. AWS’s growth rate of 40% is equivalent to a growth rate of 160% for Azure so that the absolute net amount matches. Azure is still lagging far way off in terms of new revenue added...
All wrong.
Interesting to see the numbers, none the less.
Lots of places will switch from AWS to M$ as Azure matures. Jeff keeps becoming every business's competitor. Why would you want to fund his ambition? M$ and GOOG will gain enterprises because of this.

I shouldn’t say easy to double but easier comparatively. Still impressive either way...
