Heard congress distributing wealth
Hi, I'm currently an SDE2 at Amazon. I got an offer from Microsoft level 61. total years of experience - 3 Office team. Current TC - 33 (25 base) TC - 25.5 base + 50000 usd split across 4 years stocks + upto 20% bonus + 6(3+3) joining bonus. How are the refresher stocks that are given at every performance review going to be at Microsoft? And how are the future yearly hikes like? And how is the hike and new stocks on getting promoted to 62? How is the work like? I see people not leaving Microsoft at all. Is it due to awesome work or that people get struck there and find it very hard to move due to lot of inhouse technologies?
That is very good base for 61. Usually 62 starts at 24+, push for 62, less likely to get 20/30% hike as you're already in 62 range. Hikes, Bonus - average around 10% Office team- Average work, people probably like WLB and tend to feel more comfortable. Edit: With 3 Yoe 62 would be very difficult
Refreshers stocks have ranges defined for each level which vests in 5 years.. 61 : 0-11k. Avg: 5.5k 62 : 0-19k. Avg: 9.5k
Very good offer in terms of money I was 62 5 Yoe and wasnt making this much.
Your TC is quite good. But you should ask for l62. Else it would be minimum 2 years to get l62 internally later. Also 2 more after to get l63 minimum.
but with 3 years of experience, would they give l62?
I have seen people reaching l62 in 3 years for college fresher for top performer. So technically yes it's possible but difficult.
@OP Can you provide some details in terms of how the discussion go ? Were you asked for your current numbers and salary expectations ?
Congratulations, Join Microsoft. Amazon is not good company to work in long run.
Did you join? I am also sailing in similar boat.
1. The upto 20% bonus is paid at 10% on an average. Nobody gets 20%. 2. Refresher stocks are decent and hikes are decent too. 3. It's like a govt org where you can expect one level up every two years if you do well. Every level up you get a good hike. 20-30% on average and new stocks. 4. Oldies are too full of themselves to leave Microsoft. Too much attitude and very little knowledge on how things work outside Microsoft. Either you leave within first couple of years or you get stuck for ever.
Lol . You would be very lucky to get 10% hike on salary on being promoted. Refreshers are peanuts . No new stocks on promotion (Microsoft policy). Though stock refreshers goes from peanuts to more peanuts .
