Microsoft Interview Feedback

I had my Microsoft final round of interview exactly 2 weeks ago. I made it to the last person who was AA. When I sent my thank you email out the next day, the HM said, "The team really liked you, I will circle back next week or so with our decision." After a week, I followed up, and he responded in 2 hours with:
"No decision just yet, we are working through a few things on our side. Overall, your feedback was great and HR or I will share the full details with you once we make a decision, either if we decide to offer or not. Give us a few days to work things out."

I am not sure if waiting for 2 weeks is a normal wait time for industry hire. But I am not as hopeful as I was when I first left my interview two weeks ago. Do you have any idea why this is the case for me?

Seems it wasn't a slam dunk you hoped for.

They are probably negotiating with #1 candidate but keeping you in the wings if that falls through

Yea. I honestly thought I had a chance. But I’m not sure about it now.

Yep, they need to interview diverse candidates to ensure that they check all boxes, if HM is saying you are good then it is a matter of time before you get offer

Yea, they called me in for interview literally a week after they told me I had on site. So I felt very rushed. But fingers crossed. This waiting game is killing me.

I waited for a month to get the offer from Msft so don’t worry. No news is good news

Did you follow up at all during that one month? I don’t want to keep following up anymore. I really enjoyed my interview experience with everyone.

Once I waited a month to get the offer. It can go both ways but don’t give up.

Probably they still need to interview other diverse candidates before they can make an offer.

Hard to say. I applied for Bosch several years ago and the HR told me the same thing. But the end story is so sad and waste me a lot of time.
