What is the comp range for Microsoft L62 new hire IC in Redmond? What is the highest base I should be asking for to avoid having a target on my back?
Base: 140 is avg, I'd shoot for 145. Sign on cash + stock varies. Target yearly bonus is 10% cash, 11k stock (if you do average). TC likely around 170 but can go 200+ if you're good.
Op what’s ur yoe ?
I know 147k for L62.
FWIW in 2016 I received the following for L62 in Redmond: 145k base, 85k signing and 150k stock. I had a competing offer. I had 4.5 yoe at time of offer. I was coming from Google.
Amazing offer. I think MS respects engineers from FANG. Btw ru senior now ? If so how long it takes to get to 63
Thanks. Didn’t make senior due to reorgs, change in manager and most of my projects getting cancelled. Recently decided to go back to Google as I liked the culture far more. Getting to L63 is highly variable and depends a lot on your manager and project scope. Some people make it in a year and some never do
What’s with all the 137k base offers for incoming L62s? Is this some kind of tax bracket related number?
137k is likely the 1.0 comp a ratio for L62 salaries this fiscal year (essentially the median, where salaries fall between 0.8 and 1.2 of that number).
140 l62. 25 sign on. 8k/yr in stock.
Is that 50k per year in stock. I know people who got 60k over 4 years when they started as new grads L59 in 2013
Buddy just got on at 62 - 137500 base, 25k sign on and 50k stock.
Yoe ?
Good offer. Did u have competitive offer or how did u negotiate?
