Yes, the stock will vest over 5 years, but why the decrease from $22k? Thanks for the reply.

0-22k is the target refresh range.
If you meet all expectations, your target is 50% of the refresh range i.e 11k

The absolute best in your entire team (the team which is under your immediate manager's manager, aka the bigger charter), would probably get 80-90% of the target i.e 17-19k.

This refresher vests over 4 years and not over 5.

Recruiter gave you the max possible bonus crap to let you feel good. Stock refresher vest over 5 years, so 2.2k per year peanut anyway LOL.

Pardon my ignorance here (coming from a smaller company), but what typically happens after the 4-5 year mark when the signon and stock are done vesting and the TC falls off a cliff? Time to find a new job?

Typically you get new stock (called refreshers) every year as a part of performance appraisals.

That's what your 11k is supposed to account for. For instance, if you get 11k every year for 4 years from now with 25% vesting each year, then at the end of 4 years you'll get 11k net vesting.

Usually there is a cliff after 4 years and people avoid it by either getting promoted (and getting new stocks) or moving to a different company.

How do you get 300k? It looks like 245k for year 1 and like 200k after that

Every company is like that. You will be mature enough to find out the best option for you by then:) your base and sign on stock are pretty good for the level, so welcome to Microsoft.
