Rate a msft offer ( : Base : 188K On-Hire Stock : 75k / says immediate Sign on : 30K Annual Refreshers : Target bonus : 0-40% Target Stocks : Only mentions eligible? YoE: 13 Would TC be calculated as 188k+75k+(188k*.40) ? It seems subsequent years, based on how its read, I would have TC at 188 + 40% Bonus (says up to...so not guaranteed?). Im wondering if target stocks should be something defined in the offer. At L65, I was aiming for at least $300k TC. When I look at levels.fyi and see base / stock / bonus, should that be interpreted as annual refresher stock and an assumption that the full bonus percentage is reached? Thank you...
Looks like a new grad offer in SF. Sorry fam
What is the correct way to derive TC on a yearly basis based on what MS offers?
Dude way too low!!!!
This is a typical real offer msft provided. OP try to negotiate
You should easily be able to get $300k in stock. Base is maybe a bit low but not bad. Could maaaaybe get $200k base. I came in as an L65 almost 5 years ago and I got $180k base and $300k in stock. Target bonus is 20%. On hire stock vests over 4 years, so that's only $18.75k per year. No way you should accept this. Target stock refresher is $36k per year, I believe.
Where will u be working?
Is this role in a non-engineering function?
No, its Corp Services Engineering.
Ive asked for a stock package that keeps my year 1 TC consistent over 2-4 years and inceeases sign-on. I actually have an onsite with Google on Monday for an L6 role. They have committed to expediting feedback in lieu of this offer. I hadnt mentioned that until now with the recruiter.
Google L6 can beat msft offer easily for sure.
Lowwww Target bonus is 20% (top performance is up to 40%) Stock refreshers will be awful so you need a MUCH bigger stack than that at sign-on (200+)
So, there are two types of bonuses? One at 20% and different one up to 40%? The only explicit mention is up to 40% based on performance.
No it's the same bonus but they're tricking you by making you expect you'll get 40% The target for performance bonus (if you meet expectations) is 20%, the middle of that scale. If you perform well and max out your rewards you can get a 40% bonus.
