Here is what my interview looked like https://www.teamblind.com/article/Microsoft-Interview---mostly-behavioral-iLdJaF2n?cid recruiter reached out in a few days with very positive feedback and we'll be talking numbers tomorrow. Background: more than 13 yoe TC: somewhere near the microsoft principal level 65 (not marvell). Currently at bay area and the Microsoft offer will be for Seattle. To me apart from TC one important factor is the career progression as I'd like to go manager route in couple of years so the level I'm placed at would matter a lot. Ofcourse I'm not going to settle for Senior SWE but do they offer principal position or higher to new hires?
MSFT disclosure: Sun not included :)
Congrats
How many roles are within ms principal? 65,66,67? Correct ?
I think so, but I've heard microsoft rarely gives 65 or above to new hires, hence the question Updated the post: Current TC at L65
Yes, that is true, but it happens. You will likely get L64 offer. You can try to negotiate from there. Good luck.
Thanks and I guess same case of having multiple offers applies here too?
Noob here what is L65 mean?

Congratulations on making it into the best WLB company! Remember, money isn’t everything. I turned down higher TC for the MS life.
From Bay Area to Seattle- God bless your soul.
If the mountain will not come to me, then I must go to the seattle :)
Enjoy that extra comp just by being in WA
