Is this an offer which should make me take Microsoft? Base: 116k Sign-on:50k RSU:176k/4 I am about to graduate from a non-US institution. I think I’ll be starting Lvl60 which is apparently rare for people who haven’t interned there before. But don’t know if going to Microsoft is good for long term career growth. I care about learning and doing great things more than money.
Ask for more base.. should be atleast around 125 @level 60.. also depend on which area. Bay area 125-130.. Bellevue 120 .
The recruiter said the base is non-negotiable. I had initially asked for more base but the recruiter kinda shut me down there. Is it common for base to be fixed? I’ll be in Redmond if I happen to accept.
Hahaha you are so out of touch man. 115k is very good for new hire
Is it a joke? I got hired as an industry hire level 60, 9 month ago. Base: 110k Sign on: 20k Rsu: 30k
No I am a college hire. I did receive a bit more RSU than other people from my school who got the offer because my interviews seem to have gone better than I thought they had gone. I think my initial signing was the same as yours but I was able to negotiate it upwards.
College hires get more than industry hires.
You got a good offer. Even after masters and internship, they use to make people start at 59.
That's a fucking great offer. Also don't forget Microsoft has a lot of benefits, and an year end bonus I believe. Base is standard. It is either 110 or 116 for new grad.
How much is the EOY bonus usually?
Big question right now
Yes very nice offer
Which non US institution
An Australian one?
Pretty good offer. Take it
I’m getting promoted to level 61 next month and my base is gonna be lower than yours. Sigh

That's a very good offer. Probably the highest you can get
Thanks! That’s awesome to hear. Certainly more than I’d ever hope for. Microsoft has been really generous to me! In terms of career growth and learning would you leave Microsoft if you had the choice to join FAANG?
Microsoft is a very big company. FAANG is pretty much the same in many ways. Heavily depends on the team. For the most part, I would recommend 2.5 years and then jumping ship
