Hi MS folks, I have an on-site coming in a few weeks with Azure team for SDE 2 role. Does MS ask coding questions directly from leetcode? If yes, do they ask LC hard? What's the correct approch to prepare for it? Also, how should I prepare for System design round? Appreciate your responses! Thanks YOE - 4+ and MS in CS TC - 150k
I did get questions which were almost similar to leetcode medium levels. System design will decide your level !!
Could you please give me a few examples of the kind of questions Microsoft ask?
There's no consistent interview style at Microsoft, so it's kind of luck of the draw. I think that most tend to ask coding questions that are at the level of LC easy to medium.
Btw: More important than solving optimally is to be able to explain the solution you came up with. Be accurate in your time/space complexity. Be able to talk about edge cases, and be able to walk through your code to discover bugs. Good luck!
MS interview questions aren’t standardized. It’s up to the team, or individual interviewer to decide on a question set. So, like everything in engineering, your answer is “it depends”
Do we have system design round?

Leetcode medium mostly. But I've got questions that weren't directly from leetcode too. Definitely prepare for system design questions
Where should I prepare for System design questions? Really Appreciate if you could give some examples.
Grokking the system design interview, YouTube videos. I hadn't prepared for anything advanced than this but it depends on the role you are interviewing for.
